What We’ve Been Up To
For the past few months, we’ve been cooking up some beats for artists and sync licensing. We were fortunate enough to land a few placements, all launching in early 2021.
This month, Decisive Productions produced “How You Want It” with Brooklyn’s own, Buggzy Hoffa, released under Eric B Music Group (EBMG)/Sony. The track hit over 1 million streams in just 2 days! Bringing back the classic New York City sound from these 2 sons of New York. Since 2019, Buggzy has been putting out bangers with his HipHop group, Black Diamond Mafia. 2019’s “FireHose” charted the Top 50 iTunes HipHop singles and was on regular rotation on NYC’s Power 105.1, while hitting a million views on YouTube. In 2020, his traction continued with hits “Head Bussa” and “Pray On” garnering him even more attention, most notably from publications such as The Source, after peaking to #3 on iTunes South Africa’s HipHop charts. Check it out on all streaming platforms and in the words of Buggzy Hoffa “tell me my opponent How You Want It”!
Covid-19 turned everyone’s world upside down in 2020, and continues today. Most notably live events, hospitality and entertainment have been drastically affected. Musicians who typically thrive on live performances, in-person networking and collaborations were no longer possible. Thankfully, platforms like Twitch gave some music creators, performers, and DJs hope to continue bringing music to everyone’s home. Not without its challenges, this platform helped to light the fire once again within the industry. Many met producers and DJs on a grand scale, formed friendships and collaborated to make and share good old music. A place where everyone, including fans, could once again freely drift off into the beautiful world of sounds.
Twitch’s platform gave us an opportunity to link with another son of New York, Jared Evan. With an impressive repertoire, Jared has worked with Dr. Dre, The Neptunes, Mike Elizondo, Hoodie Allen, and toured with OneRepublic in 2011. Our connection started with a loop contest on his Twitch stream, where Jared received an overwhelming pack of sounds, from so many great unknown producers. But with all contests, there can only be one winner. Unfortunately, we were not the winners 😳, but another opportunity arose. Amazed by the talent put before him, Jared devised a brilliant plan to COLLAB with these producers to showcase their talents on his next indie album. With that said, Decisive Productions landed another placement on Jared’s next album, COLLAB! The first single and title track, releasing today, February 19, with the entire album dropping March 19. Mastered by the amazing Rich Keller, 31x Platinum & 4x Grammy nominated Mixing & Mastering Engineer/Producer.
These three tracks were nothing less than exciting for us. We look forward to future collaborations and continuing to expand our repertoire. ✌🏼
